Relief and Rehabilitation:

Health, Relief and Rehabilitation Project for the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) of Bajour and Swat:

NRDF registered over 17000 internally displaced families of Bajawar and Swat in seven union councils of Mardan and motivated local communities to provide food and shelter to IDPs. Later, they were linked up with resourceful organizations and individuals like Mercy Corps, Government of Punjab, Home Office UK, Layton Rahmatoola Benevolent Trust and philanthropists for sustained support. During the process relief goods and cash worth over 170 million rupees were distributed through bank cheques. Medical services and medicines were provided to over 100,000 individuals. Furthermore a regular ambulance service was made available to these needy people for a period of three months (November 2008 to September 2009).

Relief and Rehabilitation Project for the Earthquake Affected Communities in district Mansehra was initiated by the NRDF on emergency basis by dispatching a team of 150 volunteers to the affected area on the second day of the killer earthquake to assist the government officials, army and other rescue teams and local people to bury the dead bodies, shift the injured to health facilities and provide food to the victims. Later, a UK based group of Philanthropists and Stanley Pharmaceuticals Ltd. joined hands with NRDF to further strengthen relief and rehabilitation efforts. Construction material and technical assistance were provided to 52 families to construct earth quake resistant houses for them in Balakot and Garhi Habibullah. In addition, the education of over 300 children at Roshan Public School, Balakot was sponsored (October 2005 to December 2007).

Provision of Relief Goods was a project in collaboration with journalist community to provide relief goods to the newly arrived Afghan Refugees in Jalozai and Shamshatoo camps in Peshawar district (January to December 2001).
