  •  To motivate core groups to take more responsibilities pertaining to planning and implementation of local level activities and raising the required funding for these activities.
  •  To upgrade and prepare motivational material on current-day issues and publish them.
  •  To facilitate the working of civil society organizations, to upgrade their capacity to effectively handle the opposition of Ulama through provision of motivational material and to link them in a network with the district core groups.
  •  Arrest the growing religious intolerance and extremism in the country by encouraging Ulama to interact with developmental organizations, highlight the moderate teachings of Islam concerning issues of present day importance in their sermons and speeches.
  •  To prepare and implement a comprehensive plan for the re-orientation of female clerics.
  •  To identify ways and means for revamping the syllabi of female and male Madaris and suggest policy measures to reform the functioning of religious institutions.
  •  To develop a comprehensive proposal for the next phase of the project.

  •  One orientation workshop was conducted with a group of female religious clerics and female members of local communities.
  •  Seven days Aimmah Trainings Course conducted and 25 Aimmah/Khutiba participated in each training.
  •  Organizing Weekly Daroos.
  •  NRDF organized three discussion forums, each one of approximately three hours Project Period in Peshawar and Swabi districts of NWFP. More than 200 Ulama, professionals from other fields, media, lawyers, doctors and representatives of CBOs participated in these events.
  •  Organized two capacity building trainings for NRDF Staff.

  •  To facilitate the religious institutions to actively take part in the developmental process.
  •  To build the capacity of Ulama to interact with outside world and reflect on local issues according to the modern interpretation of teaching of Quran based on advance knowledge and research.
  •  To strengthen the position of NRDF to formulate and disseminate program addressing the awareness and communication needs of Ulama religious seminaries.
  •  Arrest the growing religious intolerance and extremism in the country while highlighting the moderate teachings of Islam concerning issues of present day importance.
  •  To facilitate the working of civil society organizations and upgrade their capacity to effectively handle the opposition of Ulama while working in the field.
  •  To enhance the effectiveness of Ulama associated with NRDF to raise awareness amongst local communities concerning gender justice, female education, human rights, peace, tolerance, promotion of democratic values etc.

  •  Arrange two English language courses for Ulama and people belonging to various religious institutions and religio-political groups and 35 Ulama and teachers have attended the courses.
  •  Three Exposure visits arranged. During the first exposure visit they were taken to USIS, British Council Islamabad, Agha Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP), Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Save the Children (US), Islamic Relief (UK), Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University, Islamic Ideological Council of Pakistan, Allama Iqbal Open University and Rural Social Development Programme (RSDP). The participants highly appreciated this visit. The second visit was arranged from April 22 to 25, 2002 to Islamabad. The participants were taken to Canadian International Agency (CIDA), Commission of European Community (CEC), Friedirch Naumann Foundation (FNF), Department for International Development (DFID), Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), UNICEF, UNFPA, Trust for Voluntary Organizations (TVO) and Sharia Academy, International Islamic University.
  •  Up gradation of NRDF library service
  •  Preparation/Presentation of Documentary
  •  Purchasing of equipments for NRDF.
