Health Services for the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) of Bajour and Swat

Objectives:

  •  To provide health services to the internally displaced families of Bajawar and Swat in seventeen union councils of Mardan district.

Activities:

  •  Registered of needy women, children and elderly individuals
  •  Networking of needy individuals with national and international organization
  •  Setting up medical camps for the needy individuals
  •  Ambulance service for the pregnant women, children and needy
  •  Health and hygiene sessions

Outputs:

  •  Free medical services were provided to over 70,000 needy women, children’s and needy individuals
  •  Networked the registered population to the national and international organization and government of Punjab health officials
  •  Free medical medicines worth Rs. 2.5 millions were provided to over 100,000 individuals.
  •  Regular health and hygiene sessions were held for the IDP communities

November 2008 to September 2009

Collaboration:

Local communities, Mercy Corps, Government of Punjab, Home Office UK, Layton Rahmatoola Benevolent Trust and philanthropists from all over country
